Privacy Policy

Version 2.0, 12 October 2026. Effective from the date of publication on eightforex.com.

This Policy explains how PT EIGHT FOREX INVESTAMA ("we", "us") handles personal data on eightforex.com and Eight Forex Journal at journal.eightforex.com, including the web app, the Eight Forex Journal Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 (the "EA"), statement import, and public profiles (the "Services").

We process personal data in line with applicable data protection laws, including the EU/UK GDPR and Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP).

1. Who we are

PT EIGHT FOREX INVESTAMA (NIB 0508260171753), South Jakarta, Indonesia, is the controller of your personal data (full details in Section 16). For all privacy questions, requests, and complaints, email legal@eightforex.com.

2. Data we collect

Website. If you use the contact form or a "Notify me" request: your name (contact form only), email address, message, and the time you consented. We also keep a hashed IP address to prevent abuse, and server logs (IP address, browser, pages, time) for security.

Journal account. Your email address and, if you choose, a display name. One account is allowed per email address. Your password is stored only as a secure hash. We keep records of what you consented to and when.

Trading data (only if you choose to provide it, with your separate, explicit consent).

  • EA data. If you connect a MetaTrader 5 account, the EA sends the following to our server at https://journal.eightforex.com: closed trades (ticket, symbol, direction, volume, open/close time and price, initial stop loss and take profit, profit, commission, swap); deposits and withdrawals; account number, server, broker name, account type, currency and leverage; balance, equity and margin; and your broker's margin call and stop out levels.
  • Manual import. You may upload CSV or HTML statements. We keep only the trade data needed and discard the rest. Uploaded files are deleted after processing.
  • Notes and settings you add in the Journal.

Usage and security data. Device and browser type, pages visited, and error and security logs.

We do not collect your MetaTrader password, payment card details, or identity documents. We do not offer paid plans and do not offer sign-in with Google or any other third-party account.

3. Cookies, analytics and trackers

We use only two kinds of cookies, both strictly necessary: a login session cookie and a security (CSRF) cookie. Your theme choice is saved only in your browser's local storage.

We use no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics or trackers on eightforex.com or journal.eightforex.com. Our fonts are hosted on our own servers. Because we use no tracking cookies, we do not show a cookie banner. If this changes, we will ask for your consent first.

4. Why we use your data

We use your data to:

  • provide the Services, including your account, EA sync, import, statistics, export, and service emails (our contract with you; your explicit consent for trading data);
  • reply to messages and "Notify me" requests, show a public profile you switch on, and send optional updates you opt in to (your consent);
  • keep the Services secure and improve them using aggregated or de-identified statistics (our legitimate interests); and
  • comply with the law (legal obligation).

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

5. What we never do

  • We never sell or rent your personal data.
  • We never use your data to make trading decisions or to copy or trade against your trades.
  • We do not provide trading signals, investment advice, or account management, and we do not refer you to brokers or share your data with brokers.

6. Access by our personnel

Authorised personnel may view Journal account data (such as email, display name, account identifiers, trade history, and statistics) through a restricted admin dashboard.

  • Access is read-only: personnel cannot place, change, or close trades or edit your journal.
  • Access is used only for operations and troubleshooting, support, security, legal compliance, and aggregated or de-identified statistics.
  • Every access is logged (who, when, which account). Access logs are kept for 12 months.
  • We do not notify you of each individual access.
  • Data viewed this way is never sold and never used for trading decisions.

7. Public profiles

Your journal is private by default. If you switch on a public profile or share link, anyone with the link can see what you choose to show. Account numbers, broker login details, and your email address are never shown. Balances and currency amounts are hidden by default and shown only if you choose. You can switch sharing off at any time, but we cannot control copies others have made.

8. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on servers in Indonesia. Encrypted backups are kept on our hosting provider's servers in Indonesia and may also be copied to a cloud storage provider that may store them outside Indonesia. Backups are encrypted before they leave our server, and the storage provider cannot read them.

9. Who we share data with

  • Service providers acting only on our instructions: our hosting provider in Indonesia (Rumahweb) and our encrypted backup storage provider. Service emails are sent from noreply@eightforex.com through our own mail server at our hosting provider; we do not use a third-party email delivery service.
  • People you choose, through a public profile or share link.
  • Authorities, when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
  • A successor business, in a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.

Otherwise, we share your data only with your consent.

10. How long we keep data

We keep Journal data while your account is active and delete it within 30 days after you delete it, close your account, or withdraw consent, unless the law requires us to keep it. Contact messages are kept for 12 months; backups and logs are deleted on a rolling basis within 30 days.

11. Security and breaches

We use reasonable security measures, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, revocable EA keys, access logging, and encrypted backups.

If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the competent authority without undue delay and within the time required by law.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access and get a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, receive it in a portable format (portability), object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent at any time (without affecting earlier processing), and complain to a data protection supervisory authority.

In the Journal you can export your data, delete your account, revoke EA keys, and switch off sharing in Settings. For any other request or complaint, email legal@eightforex.com. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the time required by applicable law.

13. Age

The Services are only for people aged 18 and over. If we learn we hold data of someone under 18, we will delete it.

14. Changes

We will notify Journal users of meaningful changes before they take effect, and ask for new consent where required.

15. Language

This Policy is provided in English and in Bahasa Indonesia. If there is any inconsistency, the English version prevails.

Terms of Service

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and PT EIGHT FOREX INVESTAMA ("we", "us"), NIB 0508260171753, South Jakarta, Indonesia (details in Section 17).

They apply to eightforex.com and Eight Forex Journal at journal.eightforex.com, including the web app, the Eight Forex Journal Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 (the "EA"), statement import, and public profiles (the "Services").

By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Risk Disclaimer, and confirm you have read our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for making sure that trading, and using the Services, is lawful where you live.

3. What we do and do not do

The Journal is a record-keeping tool for reviewing your own past trades.

We are not a broker, investment adviser, or fund manager, and we are not licensed by any financial regulator. Check that your broker is licensed by the competent authority in your jurisdiction. We do not:

  • provide trading signals, recommendations, or investment, financial, tax, or legal advice;
  • manage or trade any account for you;
  • hold or handle client funds; or
  • refer you to brokers or receive payments from brokers.

The Services are free: there are no paid plans, and sign-in is by email only (no Google or other third-party sign-in).

4. No advice; trading risk

Nothing in the Services is investment advice or an offer to buy or sell anything. Trading forex, CFDs, and other leveraged products carries a high risk of loss. Past performance does not indicate future results. You alone are responsible for your trading decisions. Our Risk Disclaimer forms part of these Terms.

5. Your account

You sign up with an email address and, optionally, a display name. Only one account is allowed per email address. Keep your login details and EA connection keys confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at legal@eightforex.com if you suspect unauthorised use. Only connect or import trading accounts that you own or are authorised to use.

6. The EA and statement import

The EA only reads your trade history and account information and sends it to the Journal at https://journal.eightforex.com (you must add this address to the allowed WebRequest URLs in MetaTrader 5). It never opens, modifies, or closes trades, does not change your account settings, and never asks for your MetaTrader password.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable, free licence to use the EA only to send your own trading data to the Journal. Do not reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute it, except where the law allows. We distribute the EA (.ex5 file) directly from journal.eightforex.com; it is not offered on the MQL5 Market. Download it only from us. You can revoke your connection key in Settings.

Uploaded CSV or HTML statements are deleted after processing. The Journal is not an official record; check results against your broker's statements.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the Services unlawfully or upload unlawful or infringing content;
  • upload fake or manipulated trade data, or data of accounts you are not authorised to use;
  • access other users' accounts or data, or try to bypass security or rate limits;
  • disrupt or scrape the Services, or introduce malware; or
  • resell the Services or impersonate anyone.

8. Public profiles

Your journal is private by default. If you switch on a public profile or share link, you choose what is shown and are responsible for it. Account numbers, broker logins, and your email are never shown; balances are hidden unless you choose to show them.

You must not use a public profile, or anything from the Services, to sell or promote trading signals, offer account management or investment schemes, promote brokers, or solicit funds from others. We may remove profiles that break these rules. Public profiles show unaudited past results only and are not advice.

9. Your data and our intellectual property

You keep all rights to your data. You allow us to process it only to provide the Services, display what you make public, and create aggregated or de-identified statistics, as described in our Privacy Policy.

The Services, the EA, our content, and the Eight Forex names belong to us or our licensors. We may use your feedback freely.

10. Third-party services

We are not responsible for third-party products such as MetaTrader 5 or your broker, and we are not affiliated with MetaQuotes Ltd. or any broker.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services and the EA are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that statistics will be accurate. If we discontinue the Journal, we will try to give 30 days' notice so you can export your data.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, decisions you make based on the Services or another user's public profile, or any indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for all claims is limited to the total fees you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim. The Services are currently free of charge.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer or under data protection law.

To the extent permitted by law, you will cover our reasonable losses caused by your breach of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time in Settings or by emailing legal@eightforex.com. We may suspend or end your access, revoke EA keys, or remove content if you breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates a security or legal risk. After termination, uninstall the EA; we will delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections 3, 4, 9, 11, 12, and 15 survive termination.

14. Changes to these Terms

For material changes, we will notify Journal users by email or in the Journal at least 14 days in advance. If you keep using the Services after that, you accept the new Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Please send any complaint to legal@eightforex.com first; we will try to resolve any dispute in good faith within 30 days. If it is not resolved, it will be settled by the South Jakarta District Court (Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Selatan). This does not affect any mandatory consumer or data protection rights you have in your country.

16. General

Language. These documents are provided in English and in Bahasa Indonesia. If there is any inconsistency, the English version prevails.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Risk Disclaimer are the entire agreement between us. If any part is invalid, the rest remains in effect. We may transfer these Terms in a business transfer, with notice to you. Electronic acceptance is binding.

Risk Disclaimer

This Risk Disclaimer applies to eightforex.com, Eight Forex Journal, the Eight Forex Journal EA, and all content published by PT EIGHT FOREX INVESTAMA (the "Services"). It forms part of our Terms of Service.

High risk. Trading forex, CFDs, and other leveraged products carries a high risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains. You can lose some or all of your money, and in some cases more than your deposit. Do not trade money you cannot afford to lose.

Past performance. Past results, including statistics, charts, and public profiles in the Services, do not indicate future results. Journal statistics are based on past data, are not audited, and may be incomplete.

No advice. All content is for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing in the Services is investment advice, a trading signal, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell anything.

No licence. We are not a broker, investment adviser, or fund manager, and we are not licensed by any financial regulator. Before trading, check that your broker is licensed by the competent authority in your jurisdiction. We do not recommend any broker.

Your responsibility. You alone are responsible for your trading decisions. Consider seeking advice from an independent, licensed adviser.
